Okay, maybe that sounded better when @coachcignetti said it. Appreciate him paving the way!
Social media has made it pretty easy to build a résumé without ever having to back it up. These days, self-promotion often gets more attention than actual results.
Rather than give you the “3 secret drills to get faster,” I’ll just leave this here.
Over 3 decades of making speed the priority. Still learning. Still growing. Still loving the process.

Sometimes the biggest battle is with ourselves.
Fear of failing. Fear of being judged. Fear of stepping into something bigger while that voice inside asks, “Am I enough?”
We challenge our athletes to trust their preparation, embrace discomfort, and compete with confidence. We have to hold ourselves to that same standard.
Show up. Take the chance. Be faithful enough to move forward even when fear comes with you.
Your worth was established long before anyone had an opinion about your performance.
God made you in His image. Walk in that confidence.
Faithful. Fearless. BUILT DIFFERENT.

Relationships give correction meaning and encouragement power.
When athletes know you care about them beyond their performance, your coaching carries a different weight. They trust your intentions. They’re more willing to hear the hard truth, accept a challenge and work through uncomfortable moments because they know you’re invested in who they’re becoming.
That foundation is built in everyday moments. Listening. Showing up consistently. Asking about life outside of sports. Recognizing when they need to be pushed and when they need someone in their corner.
You earn trust through how you treat people. Over time, that trust gives your words greater impact. Correction becomes an expression of belief in their potential. Encouragement becomes something they can lean on when their own confidence struggles.
High standards and genuine care belong together. Knowing your athletes helps you understand how to reach them—and how to bring out their best.
Coaching is a human business. Connection is not optional.

DEVELOP THE COMPLETE ATHLETE.
Move heavy weight. Move weight fast. Move your own body weight with speed, power, and control.
FAST FORCE. HIGH FORCE. HUMAN FORCE.
Each quality serves a purpose. Each develops a different component of athletic performance. And each deserves a place in a comprehensive training system.
HIGH FORCE: Develop the ability to produce and tolerate high levels of force through heavy resistance training.
FAST FORCE: Develop the ability to express force rapidly through explosive, ballistic, and high-velocity movements.
HUMAN FORCE: Develop the ability to accelerate, sprint, jump, bound, change direction, and control your body through space.
The magic isn’t in choosing one over the others. It’s understanding how they complement each other.
Whether you vertically integrate these qualities within a single session or segment them across your training week, intentional exposure to all three is essential.
The art of coaching is knowing what to prioritize, when to apply it, and how to manage the total training stress.
Don’t become so obsessed with one quality that you neglect the others.
Train the qualities. Integrate the systems. Build the athlete.

Surround yourself with people who challenge you, not just people who agree with you.
One of the greatest mistakes a coach can make is believing they have it all figured out.
I’ve spent over 30 years in this profession, and some of my greatest growth has come from surrounding myself with coaches who are smarter, more talented, or simply see things differently than I do.
Iron sharpens iron.
We are all chasing the same thing: helping athletes reach their potential. There are different methods, philosophies, and approaches to getting there. That’s an opportunity to learn, not a reason to compete.
Study the success of others. Learn from their failures. Ask questions. Share ideas. Challenge your own beliefs. Be confident enough in what you know to admit what you don’t.
The best coaches aren’t threatened by the excellence of others. They’re inspired by it.
Collaboration over competition. Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep sharpening the sword.
A rising tide lifts all boats.

Max velocity development isn’t just about running fast. It’s about preparing the nervous system, potentiating the athlete, and creating high-quality exposures to the forces, velocities, and coordination demands of elite sprinting.
Long Bounce Bleeds → Wickets → Fly Runs → Speed Bounds.
Every element has a purpose.
Long bounce bleeds establish quality ground interaction, elasticity, and stiffness through progressive velocity.
Wickets reinforce front-side mechanics, timing, posture, and efficient ground contacts.
Fly runs provide the real stimulus. High intent, upright sprinting, and exposure to velocities that challenge the athlete’s current ceiling.
Speed bounds reinforce thigh angular velocity, explosive force application and elastic qualities, provided the athlete maintains the quality to execute them.
INTENT MATTERS. POTENTIATION MATTERS. EXPOSURE MATTERS.
We don’t just throw athletes into maximum velocity and hope for adaptation. We progressively prepare the system, build toward peak output, and give the athlete opportunities to express speed.
The goal isn’t fatigue. It’s high-quality output, optimal stimulus, and repeatable exposure.
Because getting faster requires more than working hard. It requires moving fast enough, often enough, and intelligently enough to force adaptation.
SPEED IS THE PRIORITY.

Vince Lombardi understood that great coaching requires more than an impressive résumé.
Athletes arrive carrying pressure, doubt, hope, fear, fatigue and dreams that never appear on a test or certification.
For me, the lesson in coaching the person is to lead intentionally, keep learning and invest in the person behind the performance.
The standard we model matters as much as anything we teach.

THE BEST ABILITY IS AVAILABILITY.
Keeping athletes healthy isn’t just a priority. It’s priority #1.
But don’t mistake that philosophy for being soft, conservative, or afraid to push athletes.
There’s a fine line between TOUGH and STUPID.
Knowing when to push, when to pull back, and when enough is enough is one of the most valuable skills a coach can develop.
More isn’t always better. Sometimes the hardest decision in coaching is resisting the urge to squeeze out one more rep.
Every additional rep comes with a risk-to-reward calculation.
That next rep could be:
⚡️Faster and better.
❌Slower and worse.
❌The one that results in injury.
I play the odds. Two out of those three outcomes aren’t worth chasing.
Great coaching isn’t about how much work you can get out of an athlete. It’s about how much productive work you can get out of them while keeping them healthy enough to adapt, improve, and compete.
Push the limits. Respect the risk. Know when to walk away.
That’s not soft. That’s intelligent coaching.
