With a stable of iconic alternative hits and plenty more likely to come, @weezer — currently in the midst of its Weezer: The Gathering arena tour— is connecting with new generations of listeners and proving that its anything-but-conventional career arc isn't likely poised for a downturn any time soon.
“It’s pretty surreal, to be honest,” says drummer Patrick Wilson. “To be around after having a career this long and, frankly, killing it right now? It’s not lost on me how unusual that career arc is for a band.”

More than three decades after forming, @weezer can still pack an arena — not just with its Gen X day ones, but also preteens and college kids who are just discovering “Buddy Holly” (and maybe, by extension, Buddy Holly) for the first time. 🤘
“I actually love being out on the road — I’m having the time of my life,” says frontman Rivers Cuomo, an eternally boyish 56-year-old, says with an enviable level of monklike Zen. “The hard part is the 100 minutes you’re onstage performing. The rest of it, I’m just having so much fun hanging out with other bands, jam sessions, playing pickleball, and then lots of time to myself, just reading and relaxing — and no responsibilities. I’m living my best life.”

During P1Harmony‘s first six years together, there was a stretch when members couldn’t articulate why they were working so hard.
“What I felt was hardest in this process was when I couldn’t find a reason for running,” Intak tells Billboard. “There were times the company just had us run without a clear purpose or a point to reach and I think I got a little worn out the moment I realized that. ‘What is our purpose in this moment? What are we running this hard for? Is it even true that running like this will get us there?’"
"Every time I had moments like that," he continues, "I’d suddenly feel drained and it was hard. But even if our steps were really small, we always climbed little by little.”
Six years into their career, the six-piece of Intak, Keeho, Theo, Jiung, Soul and Jongseob has a much clearer view of where all that running is taking them.
The K-pop act’s newest EP BLOW UP arrived Friday, and its title doubles as a mantra for where the group stands now. After years of steady gains on the charts, in album sales, in concert audiences and in hard-won lessons inside the boy band, they’re ready to break through in a bigger way.

Elly Jackson has always built her musical project La Roux around a simple premise: resurfacing something from pop music.
Her 2009 self-titled debut mined the ’80s, 2014’s 'Trouble in Paradise' excavated late ’70s and early ’80s disco and 2020’s 'Supervision' stayed in that world a bit longer.
And now, with her new album 'Cabin Fever,' she’s moved on to an era she and so many of us have been longing for — the late ’90s and early ’00s. “I went back to a time when I just remember pop music being something really fun,” she says, “which I guess maybe sometimes I feel like is missing from the pop landscape.”

Chris Brown and Usher are bringing the R&B Tour to Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium for a record-breaking five nights, but the mini-residency got off to a rocky start with their first show on Thursday night.
Per The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the concert started over two hours late. Brown and Usher never hit the stage together and their sets were cut short as the show was pressed against the midnight curfew. T.I. and Young Dro were the lone special guests for the night.
Breezy attempted to calm the storm and defend himself from the backlash. “Internet [cap],” Brown wrote on his IG Story early Friday. “Don’t fall for it.”
When Usher made it on stage, he told fans, “Welcome to my show,” which only inflamed rumors of a rift with CB.

After drawing ire from disgruntled football fans in 2023 who felt she was present at too many games, Taylor Swift has managed to irk men in another sport for apparently attending too few.
New York Knicks point guards Tyler Kolek and Miles “Deuce” McBride recently criticized the pop star as the “fakest” fan of the 2026 NBA champions, accusing her and other celebrity row visitors of being “performative.”
In a clip from an NBA 2K TikTok livestream, the two men fiddled with game controllers while debating who they believe is the least authentic celebrity Knicks fan. “Maybe Taylor Swift,” Kolek said, to which McBride offered, “I would agree.”

JYP Entertainment, the Korean music conglomerate behind K-pop sensation Stray Kids, is suing an upstart DIY distributor for allegedly uploading a pirated recording to streaming services.
The Wednesday lawsuit, obtained by Billboard, focuses on the June solo track “back to life” by Stray Kids member HAN. JYP Entertainment (JYPE) is accusing OneSync Music of re-uploading a version of the song taken from YouTube in order to “profit from the track performed by HAN and stolen from JYPE.”
According to the lawsuit, JYPE first put out “back to life” on YouTube via a prerelease music video in May. Just days later, it appeared on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube under the artist profile “yungzzz,” scrubbed of JYPE’s original copyright management data.
JYPE says it determined from YouTube metadata that the recording was put on streaming services by Hitmaker Music Group, an indie distributor that operates in partnership with Warner’s Atlantic Records and 10K Projects.

Lil Baby finds himself at an interesting point in his career.
On one hand, he’s six years removed from his star-making 'My Turn' era, and hasn’t had the same kind of hit records or released a critically acclaimed album since. Conversely, he has also amassed 160 Billboard Hot 100 entries (including 13 top 10s) throughout his career, as well as four consecutive Billboard 200 No. 1 albums, showing that his core audience and beyond have remained invested in what he puts out.
The true intrigue, for many, is: How can he evolve his style? What new stories does he have to tell? Was 2020-2022 just a run, or is he as good as he established himself then to be?
His new album 'FRESH' isn’t a major shift in his sound, and doesn’t reveal much new about him. But it is a reminder that he can rap well, and is among the best of this era within his tier of artists.
Check out our ranked list of the 17 tracks on 'FRESH' at the link in bio.
