My first Olympic medal!🥈
It may have taken 3 Olympic Games but to have finally achieved my place on the podium is an achievement I am extremely proud of. After coming 4th in Rio and 5th in Tokyo I had to come to terms with the fact I may end my career without an Olympic medal, the pressure I was putting myself through was often my biggest obstacle and the thought of going through that again almost drove me away from the sport. It did however push me into these last 3 years; a deep dive into my swimming journey.
More accountability and control into what I do along with a softer and more forgiving approach towards myself has helped keep the balance and allow me to enjoy this sport more than any time in the past! I’m incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity and experience of pursuing this event day in, day out!
Thank you to all the support and love, there is so much more I want to share and so many hugely important people I want to thank, but I hope to do that in the coming days when I can find the right words!

Finally getting around to posting about Worlds - a personal best in the 50 Fly and a silver medal in the 50 Free felt like a great achievement.
In the lead up to the meet, my outlook on what a good outcome would be was based on my ability to stay grounded in the present during the final. As a creature of habit and control, I was in the process of forcing that into being. Quite luckily, due to illness, all the routines and expectations I rely on fell out the window. The only goal became making it through the rounds and simply showing up in the final.
To still come away with silver in the 50 free, my fourth World Champs medal in a row, is something I’m proud of. Not because it was perfect, but because I managed to draw out the best of myself in that moment, and it turned into one of my best championship swims to date.
So nice to still be in a position to learn and reflect, and to have experiences that challenge my own logic.

Silver at the Olympics! 🥈
Did you know? Ben Proud, our Dare To Dream Ambassador, found his passion for swimming while growing up in Malaysia. His journey embodies our #DaretoDream spirit, and we’re proud to have supported him through it. Today, we celebrate not just a medal, but a dream fulfilled.
2. Ben moved to Malaysia as a baby and spent 16 years here, making it his home.
3. It was in Malaysia that he met his first coach, Coach Francis Kiu, who guided him to pursue swimming
professionally.
4. Ben won two categories at the 2011 Malaysian Open.
5. At 16, he returned to the UK to represent Team Great Britain, but in 2017 he came back to Malaysia to host his first AirAsia swim clinic.
6. Fourth in Rio and fifth in Tokyo—after years of chasing an Olympic medal, Ben nearly lost his passion for swimming.
7. Ben’s determination finally paid off in Paris 2024 with a well-earned silver medal.
Proof that when you dare to dream, no goal is out of reach. Congratulations @benproudswim!
