Title: Forgotten Dreams This past September I went on a little Solo road trip from DC to the California Redwoods. When I started the trip it was a way for me to get away from DC and forget what was troubling me at the time. I had so many conversations, and great stories shared. One conversation in particular jarred a memory. While talking with my Mom she told me that she always knew I would get to the red woods! I had completely forgotten that when I came to America, I was unhappy but my mom knew I had a love for trees! She gave me a book and I fell in love with the redwood trees. I remembered that was a dream of mine. This trip made me want to look back on all the other dreams I had as a kid that I forgot about. I truly felt connected to my younger self when I hiked through this majestic place. If you haven't already, I challenge you to think about the dreams you may have forgotten, dreams that at the time you may have never viewed as dreams, and see if they might deserve a consideration. I believe as children we are the closest to our most natural selves, and the more I pursue the dreams of my younger self the more fulfilled I feel. My Christmas gift to myself! 2025 Honda CRV Sport Touring 👏🏽 I had my Hyundai Elantra (Marley) since 2011, I drove over 175k miles with her, Earths Circumference is 24k miles so I drove the equivalent of 7 times around our home, it took me from High school to my Masters and from Ohio to the DMV. A few weekends ago, I got the privilege and the honor to attend the repatriation (return to country of origin) of ancient Ethiopian artifacts from the British Crown Council back to the Ethiopian Crown Council. The main artifact was the shield from "The Battle of Meqdala" Meqdala (Named after Mary Magdeline) is a mountain top near my birth city of Gonder, Ethiopia. It was a blessing to see the shield of a Young Atse (Emperor) Tewdoros. Atse Tewdoros is Ethiopia's Founding Father (Think George Washington) he united the kingdoms in the land of Ethiopia, into the empire of Ethiopia. I got to meet Prince Ermias Sahle-Selassie (descendant of Emperor Haile Selassie) as well as Dr. Alula Pankhurst, son of the much beloved Pankhurst family. Attached to the Repatriation was thee best gallery of Ethiopian Artifacts and art I have ever seen, things from over 300 years ago that I have only read about. I look forward to working with the crown to support their efforts in reclaiming our artifacts from the British, and developing more programs to help people uncover the True history of Earth's oldest region.
