Tomorrow on HardLore, we talk all things GOD’S HATE alongside vocalist @brodyxking and guitarist/producer @taylorxyoung with a deep dive into our surprise new record Won’t Be Disgraced, with a very special twist.
On hosting duty, we’re joined by former editor in chief of Alternative Press, @annazanes, who was one of the many talented music journalists part of the mass layoffs executed by the parent company of AP, Revolver, Brooklyn Vegan and Goldmine where they gutted most of the editorial staff. I figured hey, I have a music publication, why not do something on mine?

last week i was laid off from my role as editor in chief of altpress — as were many of my unbelievably talented coworkers at brooklyn vegan, goldmine and revolver.
since, my head has been spinning, full of thoughts and feelings — but all i’ll say is that i’m extremely proud of the work i did over the last 3+ years, and even more grateful for the incredible artists, labels, publicists, managers, photographers, stylists, writers, makeup artists, designers and more that i was able to work with and befriend.

HAYLEY WILLIAMS: ARTIST OF THE YEAR
This year, @yelyahwilliams has held tragedy in one hand, and triumph in the other. Rather than recede, she danced onstage with Deftones, Turnstile, and sat on the roof of the American Football House. She has purged anger and pain into a spectacular solo album. Surrounded by friends, and loving fans, the story she’s begun telling isn’t about Paramore’s frontwoman anymore. It’s just about Hayley—someone she’s still getting to know.
In conversation with me in her Nashville home, Hayley dug deeper into what led up to Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party, from brutal emotions to having a spiritual experience at a concert.

Honored to have written the cover story of SHOWNOTES’ debut issue — featuring on of my all-time favorites, @deftones. The work this new publication is doing for grassroots venues and music journalism is incomparable and vital, now more than ever. God’s Hate went on an abrupt hiatus 13 months ago, and returned this week with “Won’t Be Disgraced” — a dense new 12” EP dedicated to friend of the band and HardLore’s late co-host, Bo Lueders.
