A dress as a painting, a painting as a dress.
Designed by Miguel Castro Freitas and brought to life through the craftsmanship of the Mugler atelier, the gown became a space where fashion and painting could merge. Together, we explored how painterly texture, gesture, and atmosphere could exist within the structure of couture.
For Mugler’s Met Gala debut under Miguel Castro Freitas, I was invited into the conversation about how painting could truly live on the body — not simply printed onto fabric, but transformed into something expressive and alive in motion.
My contribution centered around translating my painterly language directly onto the garment by hand using traditional artist materials — building layers of sculptural impasto that dissolve into fluid washes of colour and ink. I mixed nearly 30 custom shades and spent roughly 40 hours painting and reworking the surface over several days, allowing the fabric itself to guide parts of the process.
I’m deeply grateful to Miguel Castro Freitas and the entire Mugler team for the trust and artistry that made this collaboration possible. The craftsmanship and care behind this gown — and the way the atelier embraced the fabric as a true canvas — was incredibly special to witness.

I had the immense honour to paint the cover and a big editorial section with (and on ;)) the wonderful @emilia.schuele captured by @felicityingram and styled by @nathankleinstyling for none other than @voguegermany — on set and at home — a 360° paint experience!
If you had told my 9 year old self I’d be able to work and be featured in the magazine that brought me to fashion itself, I would have not believed you.
I am rarely proud, I am oftentimes way too hard on myself, I beat myself over all kinds of things (maybe something other creatives also deal with)… but this, I am proud of and I am saying it here.
Thank you infinitely to dear @_kerstinweng for getting me on board to this wonderful project and for allowing me to bring my universe of paint to you. It has truly been an honour to work along side you and your team. Thank you for your trust on creating this wonderful story — together.
I can’t wait to show you more of this project.

8AM MORNING STUDIO TIME 🍂
A beginning of a new cycle or rather a smooth continuation from where 13 Works for Copenhagen left me.
After my endeavors of the last months, collecting, seeing, feeling new impulses and as the autumn leaves fall, I am back on my s**t of building new frames aka spaces for my work to live on.
As the year slowly roles into its last months, I am reflecting on all that has happened creatively and it makes me excited to think of the months that lie ahead. And now: What better way to spend the dark days than curled up between the smell of canvas, silk, inks, paints and hot tea 🫖 oh and of course some books (reading 5 at once right now lol) …

Conceived for my presentation at ENTER Art Fair in Copenhagen.
Night Swimmer is probably the piece that sits closest to me from the thirteen pieces I made for Copenhagen.
For me this work marks the beginning of a deeper inward movement — into the spaces between the conscious and subconscious, and into the fears, instincts and inherited anxieties that sit beneath the surface.
I was thinking about specifically female forms of fear and anger: the ways we are taught to make ourselves smaller, safer, more legible; the anxieties carried through the body; the tension between self-protection and the desire to move freely, intuitively and without permission.
At the same time the work for me holds something much more feral. A kind of wild feminine energy that is not polished or easily contained: instinctive, bodily, unruly, vulnerable and powerful at once.
The making of the piece became a way of moving towards that space rather than away from it. Building and removing layers, allowing the figure to appear and recede, I felt the work opening a new route within my practice — one that feels more psychological, more exposed and more willing to confront what sits underneath.
Perhaps that is why this work has remained so close to me as it feels less like a conclusion and more like the beginning of something.
Night Swimmer has already found a new home.

A fold in stone, a fold in cloth.
How fabric falls, how stone can look soft, how much a hand can say. These are a few things I kept returning to while travelling on and off to research a new body of work.
