My debut EP Canal View is out tomorrow 8.14 on @technicolourrecs @ninjatune 🥹❤️ sharing my track list and a look through the world we created with the cover art and the single artwork-all hand painted by @zainabxanwar, a fellow Zainab from Lahore. Not only that, but she is from the neighboring town to Canal View, the neighborhood I grew up in before immigrating to New York. Her work immediately spoke to me because we both see our creative expression as a modality for healing and processing our experiences as multi-cultural women. Now, I just need to hang all of these up in my house. Tour Diary 🇺🇸🇨🇦 on the road with @channeltres this September 🚘 I attempted to vlog my way through but alas, I gave up - and so I’m sharing the little bits that I did end up documenting 🎥 tour is always such a challenging, fun, and rewarding experience. STORY TIME! Two years ago @hasanminhaj hit me up to tell me he was working on something special and wanted my expertise to help work on it. Intrigued, I obviously took the call-what help could a legend like Hasan need from me??? Turns out, that thing was the movie that is currently in the top 10 on Netflix, Best of the Best. I was on tour with Elyanna at the time and I remember taking the call with Hasan, @prashanthvenkat and the director @imlenakhan giddy about what I could contribute to the film. I had never done work like this before but Hasan showed such trust in my taste that it fired me up. I always wanted to be a music supervisor for film and tv when I was younger and this felt like a dream come true. I ended up consulting and working closely with Lena and the incredible music supervisor Kier Lehman, both of whom I learned so much from about the process of how music ends up in films. We shared ideas for scenes, I made endless playlists and suggestions and got to put them on to a host of talented artists from the South Asian diaspora and beyond. Some of those songs even made the Final Cut of the film (peechay hatt 😉 🇵🇰) . Even though I barely scratched the surface of what music supervision truly entails, I was challenged to dig deeper beyond my typical musical knowledge, especially to challenge what viewers would consider South Asian music outside of just Bollywood. Congratulations to everyone involved in this film! It was so fun and the first of its kind. I remember reading the script and getting so excited, especially as someone who tried out for the Bhangra team at NYU and epically flopped. Special thanks to Hasan, who has always rooted for me and supported me from my eaaaaarly days as a DJ. You really are an advocate for our community FOR REAL for real. And big thanks to Kier, Lena and Prashant for bringing me into this world as well. If you make tv shows or movies, hit me up! I loved doing this and want to work on more films. DJing is so fun, but my curatorial skills extend beyond the club and I want to flex more of that 😊😊😊 oh also you can throw my songs in your films and tv shows too (shameless 🔌 Go watch Best of the Best on Netflix! 28 Sep 2026

🇬🇧MANCHESTER!!! 🇬🇧London isn’t the only one getting an @azadi_dunia 😉 we’re coming to New Century on November 14 with the one and only @jdreidmusic and @megustacollective. JD and I have at least 3 unreleased tracks that we’ve been cooking and we can’t wait to play them together. Funny story, I went into my Serato the other day and saw I had a track from JD from nearly 14 years ago on a Soulection compilation, that’s how long this man has been making bangers. LONDON⚠️! NOVEMBER 13 🇬🇧 This is not a drill. For the first time ever…we are bringing Azadi outside of NYC with @nadine_noor & @lalalaclaire at Night Tales Loft ‼️After selling out Elsewhere, Public Records (4 times!!) and Silo in NYC, we’re fortunate enough to bring our night to London. I’ve often said London’s nightlife, energy, and club culture is the best in the world (second to NYC ofc !!) because I grew up visiting the city throughout my childhood, and was lucky enough to get a taste of it. So what is Azadi? What can you expect? As our name suggests, liberty is at the core of our experience: for our DJs and partygoers: 1. we strongly encourage no phones on the dance-floor so you can fully immerse yourself in the music. 2. keep an open mind to new sounds: no requests. 3. no fcukery on the dancefloor. All humans welcome. 4. Dance!!! Throw ass, express yourself, be free! What music can you expect? -We proudly highlight club music from the global south, all with a distinct New York flavor: high octane, global, groovy. -Expect the unexpected. Genres? We don’t know her. -We can span everything from bass to hip-hop, baile funk to hardrgroove, bubbling to gqom, guaracha to mahraganat and back: anything with soul and ass-shaking powers. Our goal is to show the connective thread of music from around the world and how we can all get free by shaking a little ass together, even when the sounds are foreign to us. So London????
